Arthur W. Rose Jr., 83, of Goffstown, NH passed away October 2 after a long illness. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Evelyn M. Rose, his son Arthur and wife Linda Rose of Canterbury, NH, his son Philip of Goffstown, NH, his daughter Jacqueline and husband Glen Powell of Canterbury, NH, his daughter Allison and husband Barry Shanahan of Goffstown, NH, 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, a brother Richard Rose of Parker, CO. He is predeceased by his daughter Roberta Rose Barry, a brother Ronald Rose of Somerville, MA and his parents Arthur W. and Eleanor Rose of Stoneham, MA.

After serving in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean conflict, Arthur entered college for Architectural Engineering, later becoming a registered professional engineer and a leading structural engineer throughout New England.

Arthur had a strong civic duty and was involved in many community boards and organizations in the town of Goffstown and the Manchester area as well as statewide and national organizations to name a few: Boy Scouts of America, Goffstown Baseball, Goffstown Sewer Commission, Goffstown Rotary, Roman Catholic Diocese of Manchester, Southern NH Planning Commission, Association of Consulting Engineers of NH, 1999 New Hampshire Engineer of the Year Award Recipient, American Arbitration Association.

He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Calling hours will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at French and Rising Funeral Home, 17 South Mast St., Goffstown, on Thursday October 5. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday October 6 at 10 a.m. at St. Lawrence Church in Goffstown. Burial will follow at Westlawn Cemetery. .
