GOFFSTOWN - Virginia "Ginny" (Mortensen) Brison, 90, died Dec. 2, 2017 at Evergreen Place in Manchester, NH following a period of declining health.

Born in Somerville, MA, she was the daughter of the late Esther and Carl Mortensen. She attended Summerville Schools, employed by ET Slattery's in Boston, MA. as a Bundle Girl and Bookkeeper. She met the love of her life Charles E. Brison at the Grace Baptist Church where they married on Easter Sunday, March 28, 1948. She was employed as a cashier in a grocery store in Billerica, MA while her husband Charles served in World War II and the Korean War. When Charles was discharged from the service they moved to Goffstown, NH in 1950. She became a mother and stayed at home to raise 3 children. An active member of the Goffstown Congregational Church she also enjoyed The Couples Club. She was a past member of Martha Washington Chapter OES. After raising a family she was employed by Granite State Stamp Company.

Members of her family include her predeceased husband of 64 years, Charles Brison and daughter Jan Nawoj. Surviving are two children Tom Brison of Hooksett and his wife Marilyn, and Sandi Decknick of Goffstown; eight grandchildren Jenn, Martin, Chuck, Heather, Chris, Josh, Phil and Taylor, as well as three great-grandchildren, Ben, Maddy, and Ryan; two brothers, Mert Mortensen of Holyoke, MA, and Eugene Mortensen of Tewksbury, MA, one sister Priscilla Jones of Selbyville, DE, sister-in-law Elsie Brison of Concord NH; and numerous nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: Calling hours are Thursday, December 7 at the French and Rising Funeral Home, 17 South Mast St., Goffstown from 10:00 AM to 12 noon. The funeral will be conducted immediately after the calling hours from 12 noon to 12:30 PM. Burial will be at the State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH on Friday, attended by the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bektash Shriners Children's HospitalTransportation Fund, P.O. Box 4086, Concord, NH 03302. The family would like to thank Evergreen Place and Home Health and Hospice in Merrimack, NH for the compassionate care they provided Ginny.
