Raymond Taber of Goffstown passed away peacefully on July 7th after a six-month battle with cancer. He was 83. He was the only child of Raymond and Mildred Taber, and he lived in Goffstown his entire life. He was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Luane Taber. He is survived by his two sons, Mike and Ron, his two daughters-in-law, Andrea and Mary, his four grandchildren, Jennifer, Tim, Amy, and Cameron, several great-grandchildren, and his companion of over 4 years Mary Auer and her family.

He graduated from Goffstown High School in 1953, and he earned a Bachelor’s Degree at St. Anselm College in 1958. He worked in the office equipment repair business for over fifty years at Pioneer Business Machine, Standard Duplicator, and R&L Supply. As a retiree, he worked part-time for Ira Lexus of Manchester. He volunteered his time in support of many worthy causes, including; serving on the Board of the Goffstown Village Water Precinct, as one of the founders of the Goffstown Rail Trail project, and as a youth sports coach for both basketball and baseball. Ray’s favorite pastime was hiking, and as part of his thousands of hiking excursions, he was very proud to have climbed all of the 4,000-foot peaks throughout New England. He also loved sports, camping, and planning his next vacation. Ray lived a wonderful life and was loved and admired by everyone he met. If you lived in Goffstown over the past seven decades, there’s a very good chance Ray made a positive impact on your life in some way. All who knew him will dearly miss him.
