Normand Claude Hébert Ph.D
President and Founder of Microelectrodes, Inc.
Dr. Hébert passed away quietly on August 28th. He was born on January 8, 1930 in Bedford Quebec to the late Placide and Aldeoda (Campbell) Hébert. His family relocated to Manchester NH when he was 12. He attended St. George’s Grammar School and Manchester Central High School, as well as received his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Saint Anselm College. After graduation, he served in the US Army at Fort Hood in Texas. He subsequently worked at the Ethyl Corporation in Detroit while studying for his Master of Science degree at the University of Detroit. He continued his graduate education at Purdue University where he worked alongside Nobel laureate Professor H. C. Brown studying hydroboration for which he earned a PhD in Chemistry. Dr. Hébert went on to work for Corning Glass Works (NY) until 1970 when he returned to New Hampshire, residing in Goffstown, and started Microelectrodes Inc. where he continued to work well into his 80’s. During his career, he obtained several patents, published a number of research articles and edited two books on ion selective electrodes. In his later years, he learned to make and play the violin, build and sail a boat, sculpt in many different materials, paint and became a certified Master Gardener. He enjoyed many fond years at his summer home in Harwich, MA. and traveling throughout Europe with his wife

Dr. Hébert was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Therese (Provencher) Hébert, and their daughter Dr. Suzanne Hebert. His family also includes Michele and her husband, Dr. Gil Becker, of Goffstown; Marc Hebert and his wife, Kelly, of Bow; Dr. Daniel Hebert and his wife, Leah, of Amherst, MA; Dr. David Imondi of South Windsor, CT.; his grandchildren, Dylan and Shannon Hebert, Grace and Dominic Imondi and Harrison Hebert; two sisters, a brother and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 11:00AM to 12:00PM at the French and Rising Funeral Home 17 South Mast St. Goffstown. Funeral services will follow at 12:00PM in the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery of Manchester. The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the Metastatic Breast Cancer Network (MBCN) in memory of Therese Hebert and Suzanne Hebert-Imondi, 165 West 46th St. Suite 712
